I'm using Suse 8.1 linux and eclipse 2.1 final release GTK.

Sometime ago i post a question about using portuguese chars in motif
version (eg: çéá, if you can see :), becouse i caouldn't type these
kind of chars. I solved this changing to GTK version. A while ago I
noticed that as the typing was working all right, when the file is saved,
closed and reopened, the portuguese chars became all '?' char. ANd i hate
using those "Ó" char's, what is terrible :)

Does anyone had this problem before or could help me on that???

Thanks in advance

it appears that locale is not configured. when i typed locale it gave me :

LANG=POSIX
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE=POSIX
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=

thanks veronika, i should have search a little bit more : )
other maybe related problem :
when using replace Ant task, it looses the special chars, unless i use
explicitly the encoding="iso-8859-1" property in each replace task, is
there a way to get it done without it?

and thanks for your reply.
