Newbie question: how to integrate a chart into servlet/portlet [message #245099] Wed, 27 June 2007 05:47
Eclipse UserFriend
I have just created my first report which contains a chart using the
Report Designer integrated in my Eclipse IDE. (Birt 2.1.2) Using in the
different Viewing options in the Eclipse IDE the chart is generated and
displayed.

All my reports will be displayed as portlets in a portal (JBoss Portal
2.4.2). I have created a portlet based on the example in
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Portlet_Example (which is pretty similar I believe
to the example for servlets in http://wiki.eclipse.org/Servlet_Example). I
have tested the portlet with a simple report (table) and it worked fine. I
changed the referenced name in the portlet code to my report containing a
chart. I don't get any exceptions but the image for the chart cannot be
found.

How can I configure the chart or change the portlet code so that the chart
will be displayed?

Thanks,

Anette
