The download from the main site is pitifully slow. Anyone have M9 available
via BitTorrent?

Thanks,

Use a mirror. My download time went from 3.5 hrs to 4 minutes. (and this is
3 days after release. :)

Seems that there are only two of us seeding right now, unfortunately Bittorrent
needs more people to seed (share) so that those downloading can download quicker.

And also that tracker seems to be strange.. (lokitorrent) it's behaving strangely.

Hi Scott,

the whole website seems to be down ;-(((

Btw. I am not trying to be a smartass here, but seeding means, having
a file downloaded already and *still* share it, therefore sharing a
*complete* file, not only some chunks of it. It is enough(1) if other
people are also downloading the file (and at the same time share the
already downloaded chunks) to increase the download performance.
Actually a seeder is not needed at some point in time, as the tracker
trys to distribute the chunks based on how often the chunk is available
from other peers. So if all chunks have been downloaded once and the
downloaders are still online, the original seeder could go offline (not
the tracker though).

Maybe someone should find a reliable tracker for the M10 download?

It would be nice if eventually eclipse.org would host the tracker.

Cheers,
Mariano

(1) Well, of course if the original seeder just servers the file at isdn
speed it takes longer to distribute the chunks, but that would also be
true fot http/ftp. Actually even more so, as the ftp/http server doesn't
get any support from the downloaders, i.e. starting the already
downloaded chunks.

Mariano,

No worries. You hit the nail on the head. I agree with you about this tracker..
I didn't set it up and it tends to be a bit flaky :(.. I found the info
based on another bittorrent thread that I inquired about. Someone just set it
up to get it going.

I'm fairly new to the BT scene..
