duplicate colors in pie charts [message #243386] Tue, 19 June 2007 14:22 Go to next message

I am trying to generate pie charts using birt, it seems that whenever the
number of columns is more than 4-5 (not even 8), the pie chart has sectors
of duplicate colors.

I have tried it on birt 2.1.2 and 2.2.1 rc 3.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there any workaround for this?

Thanks
Rahul

Yes, i did add quite a few colors. I even tried removing all colors and then
add complete new set of colors. I could see the new colors being used but
every sector after column 5 was colored using the same color.

Can you confirm that you have seen unique colors in use especially when the
number of sectors is more than 8? If yes, can you tell me the BIRT version
that you used?

:)

Look at the topic
Bar Chart SeriesPallete (Color) isnt acting as it should
writtten by myself the 13.06.2007

I was complaining about that I had the problems like you:
The funny thing was: I was just editing the colors of the wrong axis. So I
got it to work with +24 colors.

Edit:
Well, damn. I have to learn to read before post: You are using Pie charts.
Ill try it for you, and post back, if its working.

:)

Btw: Using Birt 2.1.

It is likely you are adding colors to the wrong palette. If you color by
category (which is the case here), you need to add colors in the category
palette, not the series palette.

Thanks,

David
