Likely starting with one of the GMF tutorials will be a good start:

Most of what you need will be generated for you and then you can slowly
learn how all the parts of the fully functional operate.

As far as I know, EMF is on modeling and coding automaticly, GEF is about graphical designing, while GMF combines them together.If you know EMF,by GMF you can get to GEF.
So, I sugguests that EMF first,then GMF will be easier,GEF is the last step.
