CVS and Branches [message #238270] Tue, 04 May 2004 03:39 Go to next message

I've been running quite happily against HEAD, but now the project I am
working with has 'Branched', and I am not sure how to work on the branch.

How do I get branch information to appear is probably the first question.
I've managed to 'Add' the branch to 'Branches' and it has come back with
<project name><Branch> below that entry. Do I now have to checkout the
branch rather than the HEAD, or if I select checkout will it update the
current working checkout of HEAD?

Just in case anybody IS interested :)

CVS Repositories view
Right Click on project in HEAD
Add to Branch List -> Enter name of Branch
In Branches -> Refresh
Checkout the branch that appears

I seem to be in business :)

You can either perform a checkout from the repositories view or a
Replace with>Another Branch or Version from the navigaotr or package
explorer. I usually do the later.

I'm starting to work my way round TA.
I'm making commits on the branch, so something must be right :)
