Hey all,
I've tried using the latest "stable" build (3/14), but I found it wasn't too
stable. Datasets were simply not working in that build, so I fell back to
the previous version. Anyway - I still have no page number appearing at the
bottom of my pages in my PDF. I posted the question to this forum before,
but now when I look in here, it seems to have gone away.
So, here's the question - the "Page: " label that I can put in footers and
such is simply not working. I suspect that that's because the label only
says "Page: ", but there is no formula or expression supplied that will get
the page number. What is this expression?
Thanks,
Marc

Marc,
Just an update since you & Stanley discussed the problem. The team has
decided to add a new "page number" element. It will include a special marker
string that tells BIRT or FO where to insert the page number. BIRT will
interpret the string when converting to HTML, and will convert the marker to
the required FO syntax when converting to PDF using FOP.
The element will allow you to say something like:
Page $page of $count
Which will be replaced by:
at runtime. (Syntax is still being finalized, double-check it when the
feature is released in a build.)
I hope this helps...
