Eclipse 3.0 and accessibility [message #214316] Mon, 22 March 2004 05:24 Go to next message

The project I am working on is using JAWS to test the accessibility of our
eclipse 3.0 based UI and we are having problems in making the JAWS screen
reader read some items, for example infopops and table headings.

Is Eclipse fully accessible??
Can anyone offer tips on making this work.

Thanks
Kim.

Kim,

You should not have to do anything to make JAWS happy, unless you're
defining your own custom widgets or you want your application to read out
non-standard strings (eg.- a sentence describing a button with only an
image).

You should check the bugzilla database for bugs containing keyword
"accessibility", and if you find problems that aren't already logged there
then please log bug reports with Platform - SWT, and put "accessibility" in
the keywords field.

Thanks,
Grant
