Control over X-axis scaling - is it possible [message #211837] Tue, 16 January 2007 12:45 Go to next message

We are using the BIRT Chart to plot scientific X-Y data. The X axis
shows numeric data, and it chooses the marker points for the values that
are not suitable for the task (e.g. it shows labels at the arbitrary
points, instead of at multiples of 5, 10 or whatever we want to use as
the step).

I tried setting the min, max and step values for the X axis but to no
effect. I also tried changing the AxisType to LINEAR_LITERAL, but got an
exception ("Lines may not be rendered on a value scale").

Are we trying to fit a square peg into a round hole here, with our
choice of BIRT for plotting the scientific data?

Thanks for any advice.

This should work fine with scatter charts.

For other types, it will also be supported in 2.2

Thanks,

David
