I'm working on a rather large project (about 170.000 objects) stored in
CVS.

Opening this project in Eclipse works fine but consumes about 700M RAM. Is
there any way to reduce this?

Is there really no chance to reduce memory consumption?

I've unsuccessfully tried to check out parts of the CVS repository as
sub-projects under a generic project. I hoped I might be able to just open
those sub-projects instead of the whole thing but Eclipse wouldn't let me
do it that way.
