I have a caching scheme and I am monitoring the life of my objects. My
application is fashioned after the GEF logic example.
I find that Eclipse is holding onto my models. After 12-18 hours of
digging, I find that Workbench is hording the IEditorInputs in some
internal method that is supposed to put stuff in the recently opened list.
My application is a database app. So I cant have loose db objects
hanging around inside editor inputs.
I have implemented a proxy to go in the editor input and this has
allowed LOTS of my objects to be garbage collected.
I guess I really need to know the intentions with IEditorInput, and what
I should and should not do with it so I know how to treat it and its
lifetime.
Any advice?
