| 3.1M7: Configuring local Javadoc for Installed JREs [message #205058] | Fri, 27 May 2005 09:33 | |

In versions of Eclipse up to 3.1M5a, I could configure a local Javadoc URL
for installed JRE's as in the Window > Preferences / Edit JRE dialog by
editing a Javadoc URL text entry field.

In Eclipse 3.1M6, this text entry field was removed. Now, in order to
configure local Javadoc for installed JRE's, it appears users must jump
through additional hoops and edit the properties for every jar in the JRE.
This is a significant step backward in functionality.

Bug #89474 addresses this issue. I encourage everyone who needs local
Javadoc for installed JRE's to comment on / vote for this bug so it gets
 addressed for the 3.1 release:
