Hi,
GDB HARDWARE DEBUGGING was an available item of CDT4 - early RC version.
Since I have the final stuff installed it is not there anymore.
WHY?? Can someone explain the background?
I started using it and I would like to see it again.
Kind regards
Thomas

You are certainly not the only one who finds the Update Manager
confusing. It is truly brutal. I am going to work with the Eclipse
Platform guys who have started a task force to see if we can improve the
experience.
Sorry about this Thomas, and I'm glad you found it, even if it took way
too long.
Cheers,
Doug

Hello Doug,
just a final comment. Actually after getting the helpful hints I mayself
found the helping link :
help->helpcontents-> c/c++->getting started->update cdt
I remember myself looking always at the previous chapter "before you begin".
I am sure I came along that other page "getting started->update cdt", too.
But I could not recognize easily how this could help me. It has lots of
links for pics. However, my Vista is very much terrifying me going through
all that as Vista has all these nasty protection mechanisms. To look at
approx a douzen pics it takes more than 100 clicks. And boring 30 minutes of
stop-and-go waiting. Again, this is the fault of how Vista anf my Laptop is
configurated by Dell. Nevertheless, I think I am not the only one. For
reasons of clarity it might be helpful to mention in the "before you begin"
link not to forget to look at the link "getting started->update cdt" as I
believe this should be held close together.
Maybe you just forward this to the responsible.
BTH: I think the current eclipse+CDT is a great thing!!! I joined the club
when 3.1 came up. Since then I see the improvements. With the actual version
I am absolutely delighted by the functionality. CONGRATULTIONS!!!
Thanks for your patience and best regards
Thomas
