I'm currently attempting to use gmf for a project I'm working on, and am
encountering the following issue:

When creating the gmfgen from the gmfmap, the generated gmfgen is failing
validation unexpectedly with "Validation failed unexpectedly for Type Model
Facet" for each of the nodes, and "Validation failed unexpectedly for Type
Link Model Facet" for each of my links. Each of the node errors has a "Gen
Top Level Node <NodeName>EditPart" error along with it (<NodeName> is the
name of the node in question).

I'm partly confused why the generated output fails validation since the
input was validated and passed (good input->bad output?) but I don't
particularly care to dwell on that. Can someone suggest what might be
wrong, or even how I can go about debugging this? The validation error
doesn't mention what's wrong, only that it's wrong... which doesn't leave me
with much.

As a more general question, can someone point me to a good resource to help
in better understanding this process (for example, what exactly IS "type
model facet"?). GMF seems very useful--but the barrier to entry is that you
must already be very familiar with the terms and concepts used (perhaps
provided by extensive experience with GEF and EMF?), which unfortunately I
am not, leaving me rather at a loss as to how to resolve this kind of issue.
Books, resources, tutorials are all welcome.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and for any insight and
assistance you may provide.

~Will

For what it's worth, I'm using eclipse 3.3.2 and GMF 2.0.2.

I'd be more than happy to provide any additional information.

Thanks,

~Will
