MARTE: any stable update site? [message #1858707] Mon, 17 April 2023 07:13 Go to next message

Hi,
we are using MARTE as dependency in the Polarsys CHESS project (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/polarsys.chess).

The problem is that we are using the nighty built update site, as suggested here:
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1110346&goto=1851786&#msg_1851786

but it changes over time. In the last month the CHESS CI broke twice due to updates and refactoring of MARTE. We have other projects depending on CHESS, and they broke as well.

I would ask it if could be possible to have a more stable update site. I understand that there is not yet a new version of MARTE, but it would be useful to point to something that remains stable for at least a few months.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Luca

Dear Luca,

we're sorry that the renaming of features broke CHESS. We were not aware that nightly update site was used by other projects. The only stable update-site for the moment is the old release [1]. It can still be used with current Eclipse versions. We plan to have a new release in May.

Best

Asma and Ansgar

Hi Ansgar, thanks for the explanation.
It is not clear to me why my former colleague working on CHESS pointed to the nightly build. If the old release can still be used with the current Eclipse versions there should not be issues.
I'll look forward to the upcoming new release of MARTE.

Regards
Luca
