Company Firewall: Error while reading from repository [message #1857630]

Hi,

I'm completely new here and don't actually work with Eclipse, but I'm supposed to make the latest version of the software available to different people in our company. The update mechanism is to be ensured from within the software.

However, no matter how I edit the proxy settings, a request never arrives at the company firewall. The software is not able to request new udpates from the default repositories. In addition, I receive various error messages that I do not see on another computer that is not behind the company firewall.

I get this error message when I start the application: "Application start.png"

I get the error message when I try to save the network connections and close the preferences.: "Apply and close.png".

Can anyone help me or give me hints on what I need to set where? Thank you in advance.

I suspect it's a problem with the certificates that corporate firewalls often inject into the network traffic. If you look in the Error log view, there are likely more detailed stack traces that would help identify the cause. If it is certificate related, this comment might help:

I found a file named .log in eclipse-workspace\.metadata with session data, but could not find any relation to certificate errors.
I also exported the error .log, but I can't find any indication of it here either.

I Googled one of errors and found this:

But I can see that the mentioned folder exists:

org.eclipse.justj.openjdk.hotspot.jre.full.win32.x86_64_17.0.6.v20230204-1729/jre/conf/security/policy/unlimited

It's a mystery to me. My sense is that something is trying to protect you for your safety and comfort and it's preventing anything that needs to use SSL transport.
