Hi, I registered this forum hoping to find an answer to the question whether it is possible to view or inspect an IDE object while the IDE is running.

E.g. I would like to find out a text object's properties. Like name and value of the textcolor.

Is here the right place to ask this kind of questions?

There are various "spies" that come with PDE. Type "spy" in the quick search (magnifying glass to the upper right) to see what's available. I'm not sure any provide that level of detail though.

You might creating an IDE with some or all of the Eclipse SDK's repositories to search the source code more easily:
