Why did Eclipse delete all my files? [message #1856479] Mon, 12 December 2022 20:53 Go to next message

I was using Eclipse IDE Version: 2022-09 (4.25.0) today to work on a project for school. I was debugging the project when suddenly, one-by-one, all open editors for my project closed, then every leaf disappeared from the project tree, leaving only the package structure remaining. Even my pom.xml was deleted. The only remaining folder was the target directory generated by Maven. I check the project directory in my system explorer and all the files were missing from there as well.

I've been using Eclipse for 8 years and this has never happened to me before. Any ideas?

I would expect that never to happen, except of course if the code you are debugging is deleting those files.
