Import dataobjects? [message #1828928] Mon, 22 June 2020 10:48 Go to next message

Hi,
we try to model some business processes which reference often the same data objects.
Is it possible to define the data objects in a separate bpmn file and import this to our actual process model. There we could only use data object references to those data objects of the dedicated file.

Greetings
Simon

Hi Simon,

no, this is not possible. The data objects are part of the BPMN spec. But if you have an engine processing your model it may be a solution to only place the file reference into a data object and resolve the content at runtime. For example this will also avoid storing sensible data in a bpmn file.

I hope this helps.

Hi Ralph,
thank you for your quick response. I think we have to live with it for now.

Greetings
Simon
