a beginner to use Eclipse - building project issue [message #1827805]

i am new to use Eclipse and develop java program. when i update the program, is it i need to stop the web server first and then modify the program.
after modified program, i need to build a new EAR and start the web server again after compiling.

what is the steps to build a project?
