SWT Browser about:blank not firing DocumentComplete [message #1802339] Wed, 06 February 2019 14:12

We're facing an issue with the SWT Browser (more specifically IE) similar to what's documented here: https://deciphertools.com/blog/swt-stackoverflowerror-windows/, where the DocumentComplete OLE Event is never fired for the about:blank URL so that the URL we've passed via setURL is never actually set on the browser and thus we just get a blank screen. Where our issue differs from what's described on the linked page is that the registry key described there is defined and our issue is intermittent. Our browsers load their pages correctly on their initial load, but when our views are refreshed that is when we get into that state. And once in that state we can't recover without restarting our application.

Our application is an Eclipse RCP application using Eclipse 4.2.2 and SWT 3.100.1-SDK-4.2.1 and running against Java 7 on Windows (Windows Server 2008). We've tried swapping out SWT with the 3.103.2-SDK-4.4.2 version as well as 3.108.0 without any change.
