CPU Usage is High during Debugging [message #178515] Mon, 20 September 2004 14:08 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
I updated to 3.0.1 hoping this would resolve itself but it didn't. I am
seeing my cpu at 100% during either debugging or at the end of any
program execution. The only way to get my cpu back to normal is to
manually click the "Clear all terminated Runs" in the console view.
This also happens during debugging when I am at a break point where the
cpu will sit at 100%. Has any one seen this before and how do I fix it.

My config is Mac OS X (10.3.5) with the latest released java update. I
raised the max memory for eclipse to 200M in the info.plist. Hardware
is a Powerbook G4 with 1GB ram.

Thanks
Mike J.

We had
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=69536

but we attempted to fix this in 3.0.1

So your case looks new. Please log a bug report against platform debug so we
can determine the root of the problem.

Ensure to check your log file for any relevant stack traces.

Thanks

So am I the only one seeing this type of behavior in the debugger?

Mike J. please do not post making it look like you are another poster (such
as myself :-) )

We use the Eclipse debugger to develop Eclipse every day all day.
We are not seeing what you are.
Are you absolutely sure you upgraded to 3.0.1?
If so please log a bug report with a reproducible test case against jdt
debug so we can investigate further

Thanks
