Plain text editor templates [message #1784990] Fri, 06 April 2018 13:38 Go to next message

Is it possible to create templates for the plain text editor. There ware WikiText Templates, but is it possible to create non WikiText templates for standard .txt files?

Say for instance I wanted a README header... if I had a template I could then:

read CTRL+[SPACE]

and instant readme template text

Are you sure you're in the plain Text Editor? Unless I've missed
something the basic Text Editor doesn't even set up Content
Assist.

Window->Preferences
int type filter text [box]
type "template"
General->Editors->Text Editors->WikiText->Templates

What is this?

Presumably the Mylyn WikiText editor. https://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/WikiText

You might be able to use the Snippets View instead.
