Does Eclipse Installer perform automatic updates? [message #1779287]

It seems like Eclipse Installer performs automatic updates upon startup. Is that true? Or does the user need to go into Advanced Mode and select an update button.

In both modes the installer performs a background update check at startup time. If updates are found they're signalled to the user. In advanced mode the update icon at the bottom left is spinning. In simple mode the menu at the upper right shows an exclamation mark. The actual self update must then be started by the user, if she wants.
