Hello,

I work with Eclipse Luna. When I try to open Eclipse I have the following error. It is chinese for me. Could you tell me what to do ? Thanks in advance. Here is the log file content

Hello,

I didn't solved the error, so I turned off my computer and start it again, then it worked without the error

I took the first class reporting the error,

i.e. org.eclipse.osgi

and deleted the (lock) files under under configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/.manager

Files had names starting with .fileTable

I was then able to start Eclipse without a computer reboot but did have to specify the workspace when it restarted.

I had upgraded Eclipse Mars1 to Eclipse Mars2 but after update the process eclipse did not launch. Then I saw this post and follow the process and delete the mentioned .fileTableLock file. Problem is solved.

Thanks a lot !!!

Thhanks for the solution.
Can you please explain me how are those files related to the problem? I had to delete not only .filetableLock but also .filetable.5 and .filetable.6

What is the root cause of this issue?
As we are developing an eclipse RCP product and we are also facimg this issue when p2 update is performed.
And it solves the problem.by deleting .lock files.
How can we ensure that end user don't have to go through trouble and delete these files?

To those who were helped by this solution-

"I took the first class reporting the error, i.e. org.eclipse.osgi and deleted the (lock) files under under configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/.manager. Files had names starting with .fileTable. I was then able to start Eclipse without a computer reboot but did have to specify the workspace when it restarted."

- see my screenshot (attached). When I open org.eclipse.osgi on my mac I don't see anything titled "manager", and not sure what is meant by deleting lock files. Can someone please help? Been trying to solve this for past 2 days. Thanks

...unsolved for me...
I have same error in log as mentioned above

So I deleted
configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\.manager\.fileTable.3
configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\.manager\.fileTable.2
configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\.manager\.fileTableLock
configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\framework.info.2
.metadata\.log

I also restarted, but nothing works for me.

I can create a new workspace, pull from git, work on it, save, restart, .... and one day I can't start eclipse on that workspace at all. Within the last three months it's my third workspace I can't open anymore...

What else can I do "just to open" my Eclipse again and continue working on my tiny project...?

I tried with this and deleted files from "configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\.manager":
.fileTableLock
.fileTable.1
.fileTable.1

Then I start Eclipse and same files are created again, first .fileTableLock and followed by rest.
How to avoid this and launch Eclipse :(

PFA for the log file created in "eclipse\configuration": 1519835823181
