Limitation of RMT_DEV [message #1737352]

Hi to all,

is there a limit set to add "RMT_DEV" to "System Configuration"?

When I want to add one more "RMT_DEV", 4DIAC stops working - I only can restart the program Sad

Then I start again......4DIAC stops working....and so on

Hi,

no there shouldn't be a limit. I tried myself and noticed that when you start a new project and start to drag in devices that 4diac-ide hangs always with the 22nd device.

Digging a bit further I found that the problem is in the random color generation. It looks like the algorithm used does not find a color with enough difference between the existing devices' colors and any new one. I have to reasearch a bit what a better color comparing algorithm would be.

Dear Wolfgang,

yesterday evening i posted a first fix. With a better color generation algorithm and better comparision. In the next RC you should be able to use at least 100 devices and it can be expanded to more if necessary.

Is it possible to fix it on my own (with your guidance), so I can use it asap?
Or is it too difficult?

You can have a look in the docs on how to compile 4diac-ide from source. It is rather straight forward (if you are not on Mac as I learned today Wink

. Furthermore we planned 1.8 RC3 for Monday.
