CDT Installation problem on Luna - "cannot perform operation" [message #1713116]

I have Eclipse Luna installed (in Ubuntu 14.04) that I use for Java,
I wanted to add C/C++ support by entering Help->Install new software
and typed the URL:

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/8.6

However, I get this status:
"cannot perform operation, computing alternate solutions... 2/15"
and it stayed the same for over 2 hours already.
I don't understand what I'm expected to do in this situation.

Please advice.
