I installed all of the WTP plugin's *except* for the two GUI SDKs:

J2EE Standard Tools (JST) SDK 1.0.2.v200604280000

I then created a new Tomcat Project using the plugin that can be found

I then edited my .classpath file to include the following line:

<classpathentry kind="con"
path="org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.internal.web.container"/>

When I restarted eclipse and opened my project, it correctly showed the
Web App Libraries classpath container on my classpath. However, importing
jar files into the WEB-INF/lib directory did not make them come up under
the Web App Libraries tree, and I could not compile any files that
imported classes from those jar files.


Am I wrong in thinking that this simple classpath container will work
standalone? On the surface, it seems like there should be no problem
using this container as I am (and infact the ant4eclipse project allows
you to reference the Web App Libraries classpath from inside your
build.xml script).


Any information would be appreciated.

Just tried installing those two SDK's and it doesn't change anything. I'm
not entirely sure what the problem is, it would be very convinient if you
could use this classpath container in any web application.
