Hi all,
I'm new here and don't kno if this is the rigth place
for this kind of question.
I've recently download Eclipse for Win32 (I'm on XP)...
eclipse-platform-3.0M5-win32.zip
I've on my machine the Websphere Environment, even IBM's JRE.
Well, when I launch eclipse (eclipse -vm
g:\websphere\appserver\java\jre\bin\javaw.exe) I'm getting only this
message, "Exit code=1" followed by startup command (-cp -os -ws -arch
-showsplash...)
What can I do? What need I too?
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
What version of jre's you have? Eclipse 3.0M5 requires an 1.4 level java vm,
and it does not run on sun java 1.4.0 series (it is too buggy). You need an
ibm 1.4 jre or a sun 1.4.1 or later jre.
Also, there is a .log file under the workspace\metadata folder. Maybe there
are some exceptions in it which you can search in bugzilla or post here.
Btw, are you interested in just the platform or also the java development
tools? If the latter you need to download the sdk instead of the platform.
HTH,
Regards,
Csaba

You got it, I think.
I've only the 1.3.1
However I'll download the SDK version...
Many thanks for the help.
