Is it posible to have charts based on the value of a group element? [message #164566]

Hello All,

In my design I want to generate charts based on a certain value as we can
have group by element. I want to have a group element and a chart with it,
so that with each group the chart should change. I have seen the example
of ChartSubReport in
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/examples/reports/, but I am not able
to do it. I have tried with table, it works fine for table. But for the
chart its the same as it would be without the group element.

Put the chart in the group header and use "Inherit Data from Container" for
the chart (or "use report data" in previous releases).

Hello David,

Could you please tell me where to use "inherit Data from container". I
have already placed the chart in group header.

Inside the chart builder, on the data tab. If you use an older release, it's
call "Use report data".
