display history- and team related menuitems (Team->Apply Path, Compare
with->Local history, etc) in my gef-editors contextmenu. What is the
best practice to remove them?

Not sure. It was recently added by the platform. Try their newsgroup.

How does compare work for non-text based resources?? It seems like compare
should not be shown if there is not useful comparison view.
