Using <F2> to go to function implementation on CDT 3.0.1 [message #158025] |

Hello,
We have been using CDT 3.0.0 for some time, and happy in using the <F2> key
to go to a functions implementation (as opposed to "<CTRL> + click" on a
function, which only goes to the functions declaration in a header file).
Upon doing an update to CDT 3.0.1, pressing <F2> while highlighting a
function no longer appears to be working. Is there a new configuration
option that we have missed? Or is this a known issue that is not supported /
broken in CDT 3.0.1?
Many thanks for any advice / assistance in this.

Thanks Mark - that helped us a great deal, and also helped us to look into
finding where the key mappings are.
For reference for others, to change the key binding for "Open Definition"
from CTRL+F3 to some other key:
1. Go to menu "Window" -> "Preferences" -> "General" -> "Keys"
2. Look for "C/C++ Source Open Definition" and change the key mapping from
"CTRL+F3" to "F2" (it doesn't appear to conflict with anything).
3. Delete the old binding for "CTRL+F3" (if desired).
I suspect there must have been a good reason to change the keymapping to
CTRL+F3 in the first place, but I agree with you, I'm not sure why the
change.

Andrew,
Thanks for the info about the key mappings. I was wondering where to
change that. There are a few other mappings that I wanted to change as
well. I'm not sure if there's a silo effect going on between the
Eclipse project team but everyone seems to define their own inconsistent
key mappings. Ctrl-O in the JDT for example optimizes imports, and in
the CDT it pulls up the outliner.
