Automatic screen scroll [message #157832] Wed, 31 October 2007 04:28 Go to next message

Hi,

In my gmf diagram I am able to create connections betwen some components.
The problem appears when I want to connect two components which don't fit
on the screen, you click on the first component to start the connection
then you drag the connection to find the component to connect and the
screen doesn't scroll automatically, so you aren't able to finish the
connection. The only way to connect two components which don't fit on the
screen is through the zoom tool which is the only way to fit the
components on the screen but for me this isn't very useful because with
zoom the component's name isn't clear in some cases.

This problem just appears with connections, I mean with other elements I
am able to drag them to other places in diagram and the screen scrolls
automatically.

How works screen scroll in gmf diagrams?

Regards

I have checked that automatic scroll is already implemented for
connections, the thing is that you must not get out of the diagram screen
when you drag the connection.
Thanks.

Richy,

I actually just committed a fix yesterday to fix a few issues with the
ConnectionCreationTool and make this easier for the user. It is no
longer necessary to hover near the edge and the icons will provide some
indication as to where scrolling will occur. See

Cherie
