xml dataset on unix file system (org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.xml.dataSet) [message #152203] Mon, 10 April 2006 06:11 Go to next message

I've got some problems to retreive data from a
org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.xml.dataSet on a linux machine.
Everything goes fine on my development env., but as I deploy on the linux
machine (the paths are changed by my deployment script), it doesn't shown
the list based on my xml dataset. (where should I find logs?)
Could tou explain what are the
data.oda.xml.FILELIST,
data.oda.xml.dataSet.XML_FILE,
and data.oda.xml.dataSet.XPATHTEXT for?
Thanks,
Gilles
xml dataset on unix file system and logging level [message #152308 is a reply to message #152203] Mon, 10 April 2006 12:30 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I don't see any error in the log, who only logs SEVERE issues (alltrough
the BIRT_VIEWER_LOG_LEVEL context parameter of the web.xml is set to OFF
!?).
How can I set the log level? in the web.xml? Can I use OFF, SEVERE,
WARNING, INFO, CONFIG, FINE, FINER, FINEST and ALL for the
BIRT_VIEWER_LOG_LEVEL context parameter?
Thanks,
Gilles
Don't let me dive into the list! [message #152535 is a reply to message #152308] Tue, 11 April 2006 09:25 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I solved the log level problem (ALL just don't work, I use FINEST).
But still wondering the difference between data.oda.xml.FILELIST and
data.oda.xml.dataSet.XML_FILE? It seems like my report engine still refers
to a wrong old path. I stored an data.oda.xml and an oda.xml.dataSet in an
rptlibrary.
The dataset refers to the datasource by the name given to datasource in
the library. I imported the dataset in an rptdesign, and I imported the
datasource too (can give a new name). How important is it to keep the
datasource's name as the name given in the library? To wich datasource
name does the engine refers?
Thank,
Gilles

It seems that renaming both the datasource and the dataset in the
importing report solves the problem.

But...

nobody cares ;-(
