Is it possible, instead of using an appletviewer to run an applet, to use a
browser? Is there any way I can enter the path to the executable (e.g.
IExplore.exe) and then give it a HTML page that contains an applet tag?

Thanks in advance

The "Java Applet" launch config does not support this (not sure we could
support a "debug" mode if we did that).

However, you should be able to configure an external tool to "run" an
applet. Configure the tool to launch your browser with an argument that is
an HTML file.
