Reusing Compley Diagram Elements [message #1459514]

Dear Sirius community,

i am currently working on a View Specification Project and want to do the following:

There is a defined Diagram Element "X" with tooling, style and some child elements.
Now i want to use the exact same element "X" at two positions in my "Layer tree". What i can do now is a simple copy & paste, but then i have the problem of redundancy regarding to changes/updates... and i have to add the copy of X to all the tooling and so on.

Does anybody know if there is something like a reference to the Diagram Element "X", which i can use at another "place" in the layer tree?

In your Viewpoint Specification Model (VSM, the odesign file), you have
defined some Diagram Element Mappings. I think you are just looking for
the reusedXXXMappings references/properties available on the Layer and
also on the Node and Container mappings.

Those properties are displayed in the Import tab of the properties view.

Note that the semantic candidates expression have to be valid from the
mapping locations and from the reused locations.

You have also the possibility to resued tools in a ToolSection.
