Importing from Word [message #14568] Fri, 01 May 2009 11:44 Go to next message

Sorry if I've missed this in the help but I have gone and looked!

The FAQ says that OSEE can import from a Word XML by heading to generate
artifacts. I can't find a BLAM to carry out this action and it doesn't
seem to be in the import options.

How does one do this please?

You can import a wordMl document by dragging and dropping a file from your
desktop onto a folder or any other artifact in Artifact Explorer. After
the drop occurs, the Artifact Import Wizard should open. Select Word
Outline or Whole Word Document import method, and the type of artifact you
want to create (Software Requirement, etc...). Click finish if you
selected Whole Word Document, this should import the doc onto OSEE. If you
selected Word Outline, click next and select the outline handler -
probably general outlien documents should work. Click finish.

This same process can be used to import excel xml docs, or any other
native document. Just make sure you select the appropriate import method.
