On os x I have installed eclipse 3.0.1. Im trying to install CDT 2.1. I
dont have any version of CDT installed yet. When I attempt to install
via the instructions by creating a new remote site with the url provided

Should I just check back later is this something I'm doing wrong?

downloaded package for my platform from
http://update.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/new/ and manually unzipped into
Eclipse directory. Since then CDT works as expected.
