Create help foe a web application using eclipse [message #138833] Thu, 02 October 2003 04:41 Go to next message

I'm trying to make help for a web application using eclipse. I used
eclipse for creating help for stand alone applications and it was ok, but
for web applications, eclipse will start it's own web server. My problem
is how to make eclipse use the web server of the application not it's
defaut web server.

I tried to simply start the help using another web server (another than
the default one eclipse uses) - I made a war file and tried to start it
from the browser but I don't have any results - moreover I have some
exceptions in eclipse internal classes. It is possible that I forgot to
include some resources in my war file.

I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you in advance.

No, this is not possible as of eclipse 2.1 release. There is afeature
request: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=37714 for this.
You could probably use the infocenter support back from eclipse 2.0.2, but
that's fairly old code and it was working under WAS and Tomcat versions
available at that time.
