How to pair program with Eclipse? [message #138479] Fri, 17 February 2006 13:56 Go to next message

I just discovered a nifty feature in emacs: "new frame on display". This
menu entry prompts me for another X server and (assuming someone has typed
xhost+ on that remote machine) it brings up a windows on the remote machine
so we can both edit the same file at the same time.

Does eclipse have this feature?

thanks,
siegfried

Doubtful - it sounds like an extremely platform specific feature, not
easily ported to Windows or OS X. Pair programming may be supported at
a higher application level through a 3rd party plug-in, but a quick
search on eclipse-plugins.info didn't come up with much in the way of
promising results.

Hope this helps,
- Jeff

That is odd. emacs has been ported everywhere. I see the menu entry even on
windows. I hope to try it. I already tried it on linux and it worked. Oh
well. Hurray for the old standby.
