Plug-In loaded but not working [message #131958] |

Hi,
I made a feature with several plug-ins. One of them adds an entry to the
context menu. I also made an update site to test if one can install and
use it. However, after installing the feature, the new context menu
entry is not shown. All of the plug-ins are loaded and the others are
working fine. I don't have a clue how to debug this. Can you tell me how
I can find out what's wrong with the context menu plug-in?
(The plug-in works when I start the project in a new eclipse instance.
There I have the menu entries.)
Thanks in advance,
Matthias

Hi Matthias,
I often have the same Problem, but no answer:
I start plugins in an Eclipse application. There they are available in
the Plug-in registry and I get no errors in the log (e.g. about
unresolved dependencies). However, I don't see any effects of the
plugins, i.e. the contributed items, e.g. buttons, editors, views, are
not available.
I have no solution for this, so how is a way to debg the behavior? Any
hints from anyone??
Starting an Eclipse Application from a Run configuration has the
"Validate Plugins" option, which sometimes help to find the flaw. Is
there something equivalent when I run a standalone Eclipse with some new
plugins?
Please help!
