Text widget and native browser Copy/Paste menu [message #128995]

Hi!

How i can enable in the Text widget some thing to use native browser
copy/pase menu ? I want to select some part of the text, then press
r-mouse and in the menu choose copy, like i can do that in the other web
text controls.

that's just not (yet?) possible. The browser context menu is overridden,
and defining your own context menu would not help as there is no
clipbord support in RAP. See bug 250699: Cut/Copy/Paste support missing
in RAP, https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=250699

I guess the problem is that there is no reliable clipbord support in
Javascript that works on all browsers. See also

If someone has ideas / experience with this stuff, please comment on the
bug above.

Do you propose to use the "native" context menu for text widgets as
long as there is no servers-side context menu attached?
That would certainly be an option to be considered. Feel free to
file an enhancement request.
