I'm working my way through the basic tutorial in the Java development user guide. That's generally a lot of fun, but I'm finding some inconsistencies that are slowing me down.

The first is that import declarations are now hidden by default in the outline view. That is covered in this forum

The next is that, under Java development user guide > Getting Started > Basic tutorial > Editing Java elements > Using the local history, the place where the screenshot in the tutorial shows the "Java Source Compare pane" is empty in my Replace With > Element from Local History dialog box.

I'll wait for someone to chip in and let me know what handy setting I'm ignoring before I file a bug on that Smile

In the meantime, it surely would be great if someone with more Eclipse facility than I have (like somebody who knows how to fix it Rolling Eyes

) would just run through the tutorials every time before a new Eclipse version comes out!
