I've been using Eclipse 3.1 up until this morning when it suddenly began
hanging on startup. The splash screen appears and then nothing else
happens.
I deleted 2 plugin directories previous to this and a link file in the
links directory that referenced the plugins. I've reinstalled the
eclipse-SDK-3.1.1-win32.zip files, rebooted numerous times all to no
avail. Any ideas? I don't want to lose project files that have been very
difficult to create so non-destructive solution would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

Try restarting eclipse with -clean to get rid of cached references
to the plugins you removed.
