I've been using Eclipse 3.1 up until this morning when it suddenly began

avail. Any ideas? I don't want to lose project files that have been very
difficult to create so non-destructive solution would be greatly
appreciated.

Try restarting eclipse with -clean to get rid of cached references
to the plugins you removed.
