Hello everybody.
I am wondering if I can take a moment of your time to allow me to
introduce the Eclipse based Open Requirements Management Framework
(ORMF), which has been recently accepted by Eclipse as a public
proposal. The goal of the ORMF is to extend the Eclipse platform to
create an open source framework for building Eclipse based tools that
manage requirements documents. We (Etish Limited) have developed a
prototype of the framework and the exemplary tool which we are offering
as an initial code contribution. We are envisaging the possibility of
automatic functional test analysis and test case generation directly
from ORMF.
Our hopes are that ORMF becomes the basis for best of breed tools in
this realm. To accomplish this we really need the participation of the
community. Only by involving knowledgeable professionals and
organisations can we hope to fulfil the vision of a free and available
industrial quality Requirements Management facility.
I would appreciate if anybody who is interested could take the time to
look over the proposal and comment on it. Your questions, feedback,
thoughts, musing and advice are all solicited with earnestness.
We would very much value the benefits of your experience. If you choose
to comment, you can do it by replying to me or, ideally, by expressing
your opinion in the project's Eclipse newsgroup eclipse.technology.ormf
Many thanks for actually getting this far and my apologies for barging in! :-)
