Hi,

We're using NatTable in our Eclipse based product for all table/tree presentations.

We're now trying to build an automated GUI test suite for our product.
Unfortunatly, since NatTable is implemented as an SWT Canvas, the automatic GUI test tools we tried do not know how to parse it and read its content.

We've tried Squish (http://www.froglogic.com/squish/gui-testing/) and Q7(http://q7.xored.com/).

Is there an automated GUI test tool that know how to handle NatTable? Is there a way NatTable can "help" such tools to get the required information?

None that I'm aware of.

A colleague of mine implemented and wrote an article about testing NatTable using SWTBot. Although the article is written in German, maybe the example code is of some help.

QF-Test can do that. You need to contact the support and they will send you a script that enables GUI Testing for NatTable, because afaik it is not offically in the installer. Well if you are going to use QF-Test I recommend a QF-Test training because it's a strong tool.

I'm surprised to hear NatTable didn't work with Squish. Did you reach out to support to see if they had any tips?
