Hi,
I'm having trouble viewing the help files for Eclipse. I get an HTTP 500
error for the loopback adapter at 127.0.0.1:50601 (I'm assuming that this
is port 50601 of the loopback adapter).
I'm running Eclipse 3.1.1 (clean install) on Windows XP Pro (SP2 & all
patched up), and I have IE 6 as my browser (the help files appear
browser-based). I know it's not my Windows firewall blocking 50601,
because I still can't see the help even when I turn the firewall off
altogether.
If anyone can give me advice on how to fix this, I would greatly
appreciate it!
(I might even be able to take the advice & put it in an article - after
all, Eclipse is a good tool, and it would be a shame for XP users to find
themselves unable to learn how use it just 'cause the help file's missing.)
Thanks in advance for anyone who can tell me how to fix it!
- Dan

Dan,
The newcomer newsgroup or the platform newsgroup is a better place to
ask this type of question.
