Fastview Outline -- Opinions Requested [message #119072]

and a claim that it is working as intended. However this seems wrong to
me and was wondering what opinions you other developers have on this
subject.

Another question I would have to those who are actually coding on the
project, if I disagree with the decision of one of the bug managers,
what recourse is there?

wouldn't be able to scroll through the outline view with the keyboard
without retracting it.

The beauty of Eclipse is that it's open source. If you really want you can
modify the source code yourself. Alternatively, I suppose you could reopen
the bug and inspire a large debate and get a lot of people to vote for your
bug if you think its worth it. If there's a lot of attention focused on it
and a lot of people are interested, the commiters may change their mind
about the WILLNOTFIX status.

There is another show outline that is a pop up but that popup is
incredibly slow which causes me to use the fastview outline more often.

I would really hate to raise a stink about it and get people all up in
arms in the bug tracking system if in fact I am the only one who
considers this to be an issue.

Hopefully more people will post their opinions on this thread.

"Incredibly slow"... that doesn't sound good. Are you talking about "Show
Outline [Ctrl-O]" and on what platform and version of Eclipse are you
running and with what kind of machine? If there's a serious performance
issue, please file a bug report.
