download html javadoc for org.eclipse* API? [message #110639] Tue, 12 August 2003 21:22 Go to next message

How do I get the javadoc html files for just the org.eclipse* packages?

There is an online help system within eclipse which takes up huge amounts of
ram. I just don't like using it. I would rather read the API docs in a tabbed
web browser so I can see multiple pages at once.

The online javadocs use javascript and have a persistent left panel that just
won't go away. The server is down a lot as well.

Are they available in some easy to unzip&use package somewhere?

I'm not aware of a javadoc for the whole org.eclipse.* tree.

However, the eclipse online help system takes these javadocs from
plugins org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv and org.eclipse.jdt.doc.isv (in
folder eclipse/plugins/).

There you'll find doc.zip, which contains the javadoc html files in
/reference/api.
