The WTP has been tested with and it is recommended that you use JDK 1.4.2.
There are no gaurantees it will work with JDK 1.5 but please report your
experience to the newsgroup. You can also open bugs as the WTP will
support JDK 1.5 in a future release.

Which future release will support JDK 1.5 ? I was planning to use WTP but
without official JDK 1.5 I will have to look for other options.
